Happy Solstice!


Happy Day! It has been a peaceful and happy day here in my studio. Summer has definitely arrived where I live. It is 33 degree Celsius here today. I’m not a fan of the humidity that comes with it :( But, the sun is shinning its brilliant light :) I began today thinking I would write only about the Summer Solstice…

Spirit has other ideas for me though… I’m not really sure where this piece is going, but I trust spirit will give a message that needs to be heard. Today I pulled a victory card from my tarot deck, the Six of Wands; and the Uruz Rune from my bag. The card made me think ‘Hip, hip, hurray!” And the rune made me think “Finally”.

The Six of Wands is about being victorious in a situation or relationship. For me, I believe it is a situation that I have been trying to work out this past week. I don’t have confirmation that it is solved yet, but I trust the cards to be correct, that the answer I have been looking for is coming my way… so “Hip, hip, hurray!”.

The Uruz Rune is about a time of great energy and health. This is also something I have been working to achieve for much longer than a week. I am hopeful that I have found a remission of sorts for my health, with the help of modern medicine, and that spirit is helping to renew my energy! 

When I think about these two divinations today, they actually do circle me back to the Solstice. The Summer Solstice is all about light. Historically and still today, people light bon fires to help boost the light of the sun, to ensure a heathy harvest of crops. Light is energy. Spirit is energy. I feel that spirit is using the light of the Summer Solstice to show me the path to take and that I will be successful on this path. I feel truly refreshed and strengthened by the light of the world today… I hope you do too!

“The Witch City” - Salem Massachusetts

Hi Everyone! I’ve been away for a few posts; but I’m back and ready to blog! So here we go… Cheers to my amazing daughter who, a few weeks ago, went to visit Salem Massachusetts. She brought me back this fabulous mug. Salem has long been a place I have wanted to visit, but have yet to be able to cross it off my bucket list. Salem is known as the witch city, due to the witch trials that were held there in the late 1600’s. Salem was first settled in 1626. It is the second oldest settlement in Massachusetts. It is perhaps a city best known for the witch trials held there between 1692 and 1693. Many Christians at this time held the strong belief that the Devil was a part of witchcraft. They believed that the Devil gave witches the power to harm others. Salem was not the only place where fear led to witch trials occurring. Creativity and Spirit

In addition to my life as a medium, I am also a fibre artist. Today, I spent time in the studio working on combining my two paths of life. I was creating meditation pillows with organic cotton, dried lavender blossoms and golden flax seed. I then take the cover of these beautiful little pillows and hand embroider them with intention. I use Rune and Ogham symbols to fill the pillow with love, strength, joy, or destiny just to name a few ideas from spirit. However spirit directs me, I listen and fill the pillow with that  intention. These pillows have the embroidered intention, along with the sent of lavender that brings serenity, grace and calmness that can aid in helping with headache, anxiety, or sleep.
