Hello everyone, my new set of Ogham staves has arrived from the UK. They are amazing!!! Thank you to  Greenwomancrafts.Etsy.com for the best service and a beautiful set of staves. Each stave is make from the appropriate wood. Now the challenge comes to learn to use them for divination. If you missed what Ogham staves are, please refer to my previous post - A New Path For Divination from August 26th - to learn all about them. I connected with these staves as soon as I opened the bag they arrived in. They are like old friends that have returned to me. I am now using them every day for my daily pulls. I will soon be offering them as a part of my readings in place of tarot or runes if my clients so choose. I will update you more as I continue to connect with my old friends. In the past few days, I have been invited by my mentor and by spirit to learn about a new form of divination. At least, that is to say it is new to me, but actually it derives from an ancient form of Celtic language. I feel strongly drawn to learning more about this divination, it is called Ogham. Ogham is a form of Archaic Irish that dates back possibly as far as the 1st century. Ogham is a written communication possibly based on Latin, that originally told of names and place markers, and is now used as a divination system based on the meanings of 20 different trees native to Britain. The words are written from bottom to top, starting at the left hand side of the writing. As in Latin, there are letters missing from our English alphabet.  As a divination, Ogham used much in the same way as the Elder Futhark Runes are used, though it is less commonly in use by readers. The letters are engraved on staves, or sticks, that are from each type of the 20 trees. I have been thinking a lot today about protection from spirit today, ever since I did my daily pulls. Protection was a recurring theme as I went through my tarot cards, runes, and oracle cards. I have found that it is good to have a reminder about this every once in a while.  I use sound waves in my studio to spiritually clear it most of the time. I have two tiny bells that I ring to clear my space that usually do the trick. I often take them with me when I head out to do readings as well. Some people prefer not to have fragrance in their homes and the bells do a great job in most cases. If my studio room is feeling particularly heavy, I will burn incense of frankincense, myrrh, or rose. Frankincense and myrrh are commonly used to spiritually clear space. For me rose also has a positive effect in my space. It’s a lazy Saturday afternoon, well at least for my two kitties… LOL! For me its a day to catch up in the office. This post should have been out yesterday, so I hope you will forgive me for the late post :) I did think I would talk about and introduce my cats to you today. They are such a part of everything in my life, including being a medium. They are family, they are little helpers, and they are friendly little faces when days are difficult. They are sisters and have been with us for 15 years now. They are both healthy and happy.  My one cat, Checkies, in particular is very spiritual. Each time I meditate and talk with spirit, she is right there to help. It’s almost as if she loves to bathe and drink in the energy of the room. I sometimes think that she often also helps to raise the energy of the room and extend the energy of the communication with spirit. Am I the only one who experiences this with their pets? I live in a large building with many units, and therefore, many people. As a medium, I am constantly surrounded by many spirits that I largely, but respectfully ignore in my day to day life. If I did not, I would never get anything done in a day. When it is important, I do pay attention. Today, I am going to tell you about the man who lived in the courtyard of my building. I call him the ghost in the red jacket. Since I moved to this building, about seven years now, there has been a man who looked to be in his late sixties or early seventies, who was always standing in the courtyard of my building. He was usually looking down at the grass. He wore a red windbreakers type jacket, blue jeans and a navy ball cap. I would see him standing there as I drove by to park in the underground parking of my building.  One day, he seem to suddenly realize that I knew he was there. He looked up at me and smiled.     Happy Friday! I have spent the day cleaning and organizing the house, talking with family, and now on to meditating :) To have a clean and organized home, to meditate and connect with family and spirit, and finally to enjoy a home cooked meal with my new husband; all of these things bring me joy. As I sit here in my studio, I am wondering what I should write about today??? Spirit is encouraging me to write about my daily pulls. It’s interesting how your daily practices can change without even really realizing it. Spirit is always working to get closer to you and to help you figure out this amazing and sometimes zany world. When many people start down a path like mine, they are always looking for rules and answers. The truth is there are no hard and fast rules. This is a journey and everyone has to find their way. Mentors, spirit, and friends can give helpful ideas and points, but the truth is you really have to find the way that works best for you and be always open to changes as they come along. My daily pulls started out a long time ago as simply one tarot card. It would give some direction for the day of course, and I never really questioned that I should change my process. Ch Ch Changes… cue the song, I can hear the David Bowie version now, LOL... Everyday we all experience little changes to routine, relationships, or way of being. I don’t know about you, but this month I feel like spirit is changing so many things about my life. It feels refreshing and exciting, but at the same time I feel like I am stumbling a bit here and there. Spirit assures me this is necessary to grow and finally become the person I am supposed to be. I have always been a medium. I hear spirit, I see spirit in different ways, I feel spirit around me, and I use tarot and runes to further communicate with spirit. I can relate to you the messages spirit has to share through these methods. Now spirit is expanding my sight using scrying. I have a scrying mirror made of obsidian that spirit moved me to seek out about two years ago. I have been able to see small amounts of information using it. Another museum I used to work for was definitely alive with spirit. Well, with one spirit at least. She often would annoy the staff my ringing an old wooden fire alarm behind them while they tried to work, me included. Sometimes boxes would float from one storage shelf to another or items on the shelf in the museum store would float off the shelf, over other items and fall to the ground, not knocking anything else as it did so. This museum is a replica of an original home and is located near a hospital. The hospital staff would often say that they saw lights turning on and off in the building at two or three o’clock in the morning, when there would have been no one in the building. The one particular evening I recall, a museum volunteer and myself were at the museum to teach an educational program for a group of cub scouts. The program its self went successfully, without incident. After the program, when the group had left and the museum was empty, except for us, and all of the outside...

In my post “A Home So Full Of Life” I promised I would tell you further stories about this family and their home…  So here we go! This story begins on a day perhaps about a year, maybe a bit more, after the first story I told you. By this time, I was now teaching at a private school located at the same historic site where my friend and I had worked as Historical Interpreters and Educators. My friend was back to story telling full time. I invited her to come and do a story telling session for my students. After the session, I was helping my friend pack up her minivan and then I said goodbye. She still had a few more things to put in the van. As she bent down to get one of them, a lovely older woman stopped to chat with her. This lady was dressed in perfect 1830’s attire. My friend immediately thought she was a Historical Interpreter working at the site and was impressed with the effort put into the clothing she was wearing. Today as I sit here in my studio thinking about the choice of love for family and friends, the choice of love and compassion for strangers in need, near and far, I think there is so much potential and need for love everywhere. So, then I wonder why some choose to withhold that love from those who continue to love them, no matter the circumstance. I have so many questions that may never be answered in this life, but I still strive to understand. Do we stop loving the people around us because we stop loving ourselves? Do we stop loving the people around us because we are told to stop by others? Do we stop loving the people around us because we truly believe that they are not worthy of our love? If love is part of our heart and soul, is it actually possible to stop loving the people around us? If love is part of our heart and soul then it is part of our energy and energy can neither be created or destroyed, so does it truly end?  Does the energy transform to hate? Is hate truly the op...

I was a little later in the day pulling my tarot card and rune today. But, as I sit here looking at them, I am intrigued about what they have to say. The card I pulled today is the Eight of Wands, which means that things are happening fast, which can be related to travel. I am actually hoping this is my travel through life, on my path; even though a vacation would be nice! The rune I pulled today is Raidho, which means a journey or travel often related to lifestyle direction. This brings me a to the verification that my hope for the card pull is correct. I do feel as though my life is finally and fully shifting on to the path I have been looking for solid ground on for some time. I feel refreshed and excited about the future. I know there will be hard work to continue to walk this path, but I have learned that any thing in life worth having requires hard work. Thinking about what to write today, I have many ideas come to mind. The one that stands out, is about myself and  a good friend who through the years have had many experiences with spirit together. We worked at a heritage site together for a time, although we have been friends for over 25 years.  This particular day my friend was working in a log home built in 1837. Not all historic homes have spirit dwelling in them, but this one was always full of  “life”. My friend is an historical interpreter and story teller. This particular day at the museum was a quiet one, only the odd visitor. My friend was in this home she worked in, cleaning and cooking over the open hearth. The house smelled of woodsmoke and fresh biscuits baking. Thinking of my baby girl today… well she may not be a baby any more at almost 24 years old, but she will always be my beautiful baby girl, or bbg for short. My bbg and I spent many years together, just her and I. We have had many amazing adventures together, and I hope for and know that we will have many more adventures to come 💜. She is always there in my mind and in my heart, but we now live in separate  cities. We text and talk on the phone or FaceTime, but I still miss her every day. Sitting here in my studio, I am surrounded by pictures of family. Both my grandmothers especially catch my eye today. I can feel them both present and excited about my post today. People often ask me where my abilities come from. I don’t usually have a good answer for that, but as I really think about my grandmothers today, I realize that it comes from both sides of my family. My Mother’s mother, Annie Ellen who went by Ellen, often told a story about an experience she had while visiting the south of France. She was on a bus tour to a tourist site she had never been to before. When they arrived at the site, another visitor asked her in French if she knew where the washrooms were. She said that for the next few minutes she was a young woman from France and was exactly able to tell the visitor the correct directions, in French, to a place she (Ellen) had never been to before. You may not know this about me, but I am a total history enthusiast. I worked for many years as an Historical Interpreter and Museum Educator. When my life finally led me to my current path, I began, as many of you probably did, to use some tools of divination. The first tool I learned was tarot cards.
