Welcome to me

 Just when I am finally ready to do my first blog post, I pull the rune Isa to start the day. Hummmmm, “Now what” I ask myself??? Isa, in divination, represents a time to turn inward and seek clarity. I thought I had found clarity? I thought I had just come through a time of turning inward? Deciding to write this blog is my clarity and stepping out of an inward time. So… what to do, what to do? I get up from my desk and head for the kitchen. I spend the next hour and a half making my favourite vegan lasagna for dinner tonight. Lasagna in the fridge, ready to bake later. Okay, I say to myself… time of turning inward and seeking clarity … over… here I go!

Welcome to my blog :) It’s current working title is Dagaz Blacker (that’s me): The Spirit Smith (also of personal meaning). I hope this blog will be a place for me to share my life and my experiences as a spiritual medium with you and for you to share and reflect your thoughts. 

As long as I can remember, spirit has been communicating with me. As a little girl, I had two spirits who lived in my house with me and my family. I talked to them regularly and to me they looked like ‘normal’ people. No one else in my family seemed to be able to see them, or talk to them. My mother was always telling me there was no one really there. We moved from that house just before I turned four years old. My last memory of that house is the two spirits, who I now think were ghosts, were standing on the front porch waving goodbye to me as I walked with my family down the street to have dinner with family friends before we moved. As we walked away, I remember trying to get my mother to see them. I’ve always thought she also has “the gift”. But, she looked and saw nothing and tugged my hand to keep up with her as we walked. “Come on” she said “We are going to be late”. I have always wished I was older when we moved; perhaps then I could have understood better why they couldn’t come with us. I still miss them sometimes, many years later.

As I grew older, I have experienced many encounters with spirit, but slowly stopped telling people what I saw or felt because their reaction was inevitably disbelief. In the past few years I have changed my perspective on that. After training with my mentor, I now work as a psychic medium to help families connect with loved ones. I find this often brings the people and the spirit I work with a real sense of peace and sometimes healing. I continue to train with my runes to become a rune healer…but that’s a whole other story :) 

It’s time for lasagna now as I finally complete this post. There have been many interruptions throughout the day from both people and spirit. So, here’s to a delicious dinner and many more stories to come. I hope you will join me on my journey, now known as my blog…
